Where Is My Mind?

Lately, I've been really into The Pixies song "Where Is My Mind?" I know they're an older band, but I've been coming to appreciate them as of late.

I must admit: I recognized one of their songs, the one above, and then I knew this band had talent. Then I started getting into different albums, and they're a really good band.

The point is, besides this song being incredible, it also appears in one of the best movies in the past few years, Fight Club. I really do believe that this song, which plays at the end, really makes the movie. It ties everything up, it makes it memorable, and it adds to its overall message. Some songs just don't work with movies or scenes, but this song is perfect for the end of Fight Club.

The skyscrapers blow up and collapse. Edward Norton is holding his ex-lover while half of his head is blown off and blood drips all over him. The song is so mellow and psychotic that it just really captures the moment.

It's one of the best, most memorable endings (of a song/movie duo).

Check out the song if you've never heard it. It's worth your time.

Here are the lyrics. They also match the plot and characters very well in Fight Club:

Oh - stop

With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
But there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself

Where is my mind [3x]

Way out in the water
See it swimmin'

I was swimmin' in the Caribbean
Animals were hiding behind the rocks
Except the little fish
But they told me, he swears
Tryin' to talk to me, coy koi.

Where is my mind [3x]

Way out in the water
See it swimmin' ?

With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
If there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself

Where is my mind [3x]

Oh
With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Oh
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Oh
Oh

What do you think of the song, band, movie, or movie ending?
